About Us

Our mission is to provide the financial services most needed by our members at the most favorable rates permitted by law and sound business practice; to do so with the most efficient and personal service possible; to provide state-of-the-art service delivery systems as is consistent with the best interests of our members. Our motto, "Membership Means More", signifies the underlying philosophy of Telco, and is a constant reminder that our mission is to serve our members.

Telco Federal Credit Union was formed by the employees of New York Telephone Company (now Verizon) in 1958, became a multi-occupational charter in 1972, and was merged with Credit Union North in 1990. Today we have assets of over $23 million and over 3,500 members. Telco has a total of 8 full-time and 2 part-time employees at both locations, 215 E. Church Street, Elmira NY and 971 County Route 64, Elmira NY.

To join the credit union, you may visit either office, or you may print our membership form and complete it before you stop by. All that is required is that you provide evidence of your eligibility and open a share savings account with a minimum deposit of $5.00 (one share). This deposit must be maintained to continue your membership in Telco.

For unresolved matters concerning your Telco account, please address your concerns in writing to:
